Kumada Power Plant

Since it was completely interconnected at the end of September 2017, Kumada Power Plant, located in the town of Ono, Fukushima Prefecture, has received several requests for observation visits from various parties including clients, as a model of a power plant that is accompanied by as few changes to the topographical features as possible.

During a limited construction period of two months, the building of this power plant on terrain with a maximum inclination of around thirty degrees was a consistently nervous process with absolutely no margin for reworking; however, it was all the more emotional when the Fujisaki Group and cooperating companies worked together as one to successfully complete construction.

With planning for appropriate solar panel layout via 3D analysis of the terrain based on drone aerial photography after tree removal, as well as adoption of a frame with angular adjustment functions and transportation of equipment using a simplified monorail, we are confident that the plant has become our company’s guideline for solar power station construction on sloping land.

The measures to prevent sediment outflow using locally-produced lumber, and the vista of the modules installed in an arrangement that follows the undulation of the land, are factors that provide appeal as an “environmentally-friendly power station”.
